Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa presents strategic reconstruction plan during Berlin visit
Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa stated during a press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz that "we cannot talk about recovery and reconstruction without discussing the Syrians in Germany."
He added, "We are working with our friends in the German government to establish a model for circular migration," and emphasized, "Stability in Syria represents a high security interest."
Al-Sharaa stressed that "combating terrorism and eradicating Captagon trafficking networks are top priorities," noting, "We have followed the military escalation with deep concern and strongly condemn any threat to the security of our brotherly Arab countries."
He also said, "We condemn Israeli attacks and violations in Syria and call on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities," pointing out that "the cost of rebuilding Syria, which exceeds 400 billion dollars, represents an exceptional economic opportunity and mutually beneficial contracts."

Al-Sharaa said, "Today we are presenting a long-term strategic investment model that opens one of the largest reconstruction pathways in Syria to the German market and the European economy," adding, "What we are presenting today is a long-term strategic investment model that opens one of the largest reconstruction pathways of the 21st century to the German market and the European economy."
He explained that "with its civilizational depth and strategic location, Syria represents an ideal opportunity for a Syrian-European partnership led by Germany."
Chancellor Merz, for his part, said that both sides are working together on the issue of returning Syrian refugees in Germany to their country.
He added, "We are working together to enable Syrian women and men to return to their homeland."
Earlier, Al-Sharaa met at his residence in Berlin with a delegation from the Syrian community, in the presence of Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad Al-Shaibani, as part of his official visit to Germany.
Al-Sharaa expressed his pride in the Syrian community’s commitment to their national identity and connection to their homeland, as well as their dedication to supporting its reconstruction and development.
