During the visit, the Saudi foreign minister will hold talks with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, focusing on bilateral ties and regional and international developments.

A week earlier, the two sides held a phone call on the ongoing tensions in Yemen and discussed issues affecting regional security and stability, according to a statement by the U.S. State Department issued on December 30.
