UAE President receives Macron to discuss bilateral ties

The two sides discussed the trajectory of their historical and strategic relations and the potential to strengthen them, particularly in the economic, investment, and cultural fields.

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received on Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron, who is on a working visit to Abu Dhabi.

At the meeting held at the Zayed National Museum, the UAE President welcomed the French President and exchanged greetings for the upcoming New Year, wishing continuous progress and prosperity for both countries and their peoples.

 

During the meeting, "the two sides discussed the historical and strategic relations between the two countries and the potential for strengthening them, particularly in the economic, investment, and cultural fields, as well as renewable energy, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and other aspects that serve the two countries' vision for development and prosperity", according to WAM.

The meeting was attended by Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and several senior ministers and officials.

 

The meeting also included the French President's accompanying delegation, comprising several ministers and senior officials.

 

The UAE President hosted a luncheon in honor of the French President and the accompanying delegation.

 

Macron arrived in the country earlier today, where he was received at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi by Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and several senior officials.
