U.S. President Donald Trump criticized the United Kingdom and France, warning that Washington will no longer guarantee protection of allied oil supplies amid disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.

In posts on Truth Social, Trump said countries affected by the crisis should “secure their own oil” and take responsibility for protecting key shipping routes, signaling a shift away from traditional U.S. security commitments.

He accused Britain of failing to provide adequate support during the conflict and suggested it must “learn to fight for itself,” while also targeting France, alleging it had obstructed certain military logistics tied to U.S. operations.

The comments come as tensions with Iran continue to disrupt traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global energy supplies, pushing oil prices higher and raising fears of prolonged instability.

Trump’s remarks reflect a broader “America First” stance, emphasizing that allies should no longer rely on U.S. military protection for energy security.
