Macron unveils €23 Billion Africa investment plan to boost jobs and economic growth
Speaking at the Africa Forward summit in Nairobi, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a major €23 billion investment package targeting energy, agriculture, and digital transformation across Africa, while calling for a new era of sustainable economic partnership between Europe and the continent.
French President Emmanuel Macron, during his participation in the “Africa Forward” summit held in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, announced a €23 billion investment package aimed at supporting economic development across the African continent.
Macron explained that “these investments will contribute to creating more than 250,000 direct jobs in France and Africa,” noting that “€14 billion will come from French donors, while the remaining amount will be provided by African investors.”
According to French media reports citing the Élysée Palace, these funds will be directed toward key sectors, including energy, digital transformation, and agriculture.
In his speech, Macron called for “a shift from the logic of traditional aid toward an approach based on investment and sustainable economic partnerships between Europe and Africa.”
